about

Paris, Mai 1968
Tumultuous times make for inspired songs. In this year of upheaval and yearning for freedom, France was bessotted with the free spirit of Bob Dylan, Joan Baez and other protest song anthems. Due to the language barrier, many were translated by local artists like Hugues Aufray & Graeme Allwright, sparking a local scene that became the soundtrack of the revolution.
This allegory to order and authority was written by Gilbert Mace in 1968 and performed locally but never recorded. We have unearthed it and re-interpreted the song with a 21st century twist to celebrate the artist's 70th Birthday.
